"I have tremendous enthusiasm for this book. It delivers a most important message to the world and says in such a perfect way something that is so profound!" John Robert: Kinker

"I just read your book and it affected me enormously. If I could believe somehow, that what I am feeling is universal, some sort of manifestation of the outer world, then maybe I could feel better about it! Your book suggested this to me as a possibility." Sylvia from Italy

"This work is absolutely fantastic! It puts words and concepts to my feelings." Barbara Cooper

Preface

I began writing this book three days after America voted in Election 2000 and have continued editing and writing it through the attack on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center.

In the last two months of 2000, we witnessed, on a day-to-day basis, the abrogation and relinquishment of the very foundations of democracy in America. As of January 20, 2001, the United States no longer lives under democratic principles. What, after all, is a democracy if not a government by and for the people wherein the leaders of that government are duly elected by popular vote? In George W. Bush, we have our first court-appointed President. The decision as to who filled that office was effectively taken out of the hands of the people and usurped by five members of the Supreme Court, a majority of one. Of those five, the wife of one and two sons of another were actively working for the man they appointed President at the time of their decision. Tens of thousands of legitimate votes of citizens of the United States were effectively blocked from being cast and counted. So, as of now, Americans no longer live in a Constitutional Democracy. They live in a court-appointed state.

As the events after Election Day unfolded, first Mr. Bush prematurely proclaimed himself to be the winner, then his "high command" and supporters, both direct and media-based, backed him up and, finally, the Supreme Court made the Executive decision, much of this under the impetus of a false and self-appropriated 'moral imperative.' America has a President Proclaimed, not a President Elect. And therefore, in truth, it does not currently have a President or a democracy at all. The events of September 11, 2001, effectively ended America's separation from the rest of the world - and a world reality. And what is happening in reaction is not necessarily in the highest good of all beings.

But there is something deeper going on here. Ultimately, this is not a book about politics. It is a book about our human condition and our healing.

We are at a crossroads in our evolution as a species. And Election 2000 and the events of September 11, 2001, are perfect reflections of what we face within as we live through an unconscious sea change in our bodies, hearts, minds and spirits.

The real purpose of this book is to make the unconscious conscious and to examine these world events as a mirror of universally shared experience to elucidate and reflect on our own image, both inner and outer.

It is a book about self-knowledge.

It is also an attempt to help us speak and face the simple truth.

I hope that in some way, for some people, it brings more light into our awareness of our direction, our choices, our possibilities and our selves.
